Hi Chad,

Thanks alot for publishing this blog. It really helped me alot. I am in India. I took T-mobile when I was in US. I like my mobile alot. With the intent of using internet using my phone I took it. After I came back to India… I tried to connect the internet to my laptop via my handset. But I was not succeeded. I was utilising my friends phone all the time whenever required. I have followed the steps given above. Man its amazing… I never thought I could make it. On the first attempt I had faced some problems connecting to laptop. But I restarted my laptop and tried again… miracle… I made it… Thanks alot dude… Thanks again… I wish you all have a nice time guys… take care

hey, i’ve been tethering since March 08. first with a MDA via the dial up method using vista. I upgraded to the wing about a year ago and have used the vista method noted above successfully.

a week ago I lost my tether. my data connection went off on the connections page. then wmdc does not recognise my wing. this has happened a few times and usually returns, when it wants to.

I continue to uninstall and reinstall the cab file. sometimes it works, but I have been unsuccessful these past few days recovering my tether.

any further suggestions or do you know of any new vista upgrades that might have corrupted the registry or operating system?

pondering tethering.

Hey Chad,
Do you or anybody surfing through this post know if the above described method works for tethering other t-mobile phones too? I am waiting to buy the scheduled HTC touch pro2 phone on T-mobile, slated for release sometime soon now. I was wondering if it may be possible to try the above method to hook the laptop to t-mobile’s 3G network on other HTC phones, using the same above technique, any suggestions?
